Hip hop mogul Jay-Z’s wealth is well-documented, but there are rumors swirling that Jay hasn’t been so generous with his own charity. According to tax records for the Shawn Carter Scholarship Fund, Jay gave the charity a little over $6,000 in 2010–the same year he made roughly $63 million.
Jay is performing shows at Carnegie Hall in New York City this week, and splitting the proceeds between his charity and the United Way of New York.
The shows have been well-received and are the highest-profile performances a rapper has ever given at New York City’s most hallowed stage.
